Employee Contract Type: Local – Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term)
Job Description:
- Review grants documents/vouchers submitted for payment to ensure adequate documentation, coding, budget availability and proper approvals.
- Analyze/update grants accounts receivables and payables, follow up with respective parties to ensure the accounts are current all the time.
- Prepare both WV and donor grants monthly/quarterly financial reports as per FFM and donor requirements
- Carry out reviews and analysis of payroll allocations to grants and reconcile with the LDR to ensure accuracy on monthly basis.
- Monitoring of projects expenditures on regular basis to ensure projects expenditures are within approved budgets.
- Participate in Grants budget preparations and reviews and support in cash-flow preparations to ensure all program/office cost components are adequately budgeted for.
- Work with finance manager and timely carry out projects close out process as per donors and WV policies.
- Prepare, submit and follow up invoices reimbursements from by-reimbursement funded grants donors.
- Capacity build/Orient project partners/sub-grantees on grant rules and regulations and other grant/financial information so as to ensure compliance with contract terms of donor agencies.
- Prepare grants for audits, review and assist in the implementation of audit recommendations with a view of providing adequate implementation plan to ensure recommendations are implemented on timely basis.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self education, prior experience or on-the-job training.
Minimum Qualification required A degree in accounting/finance or qualification from a recognized professional accounting body.
Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 years accounting experience on government/multilateral grants and project financial management
Technical Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, a practical knowledge of financial systems and internal financial controls.
Good knowledge of Sun systems, Vision, Excel and Word.
Good command on French and English
Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
Travel: 20% Domestic/international travel is required.
